Etymology: Greek, eurys, "broad" and Greek, kephala, "head"; in reference
to the wide skull.

Etymology: In honor of Alcina Barreto, paleobotanist and professor at the
Universidade Fedral de Pernambuco, Brazil, enthusiastic director of many projects
to study the fossils from the Araripe Basin.

Locality: Northeastern fringe of the Araripe Basin, near the town of Crato, Estado de Ceara, Ceara State, Northeastern Brazil.

Age: Aptian-Albian Stage, Middle Gallic Subepoch, Upper Early Cretaceous Epoch, Early Cretaceous.
Material: Incomplete, articulated adult specimen.
