Genus: Hatzegobatrachus VENCZEL & CISKI, 2003
Etymology: In reference to Hatzeg, Romanian geographic name of Hateg Basin, and Greek, batrachos, "frog."

Species: grigorescui VENZCEL & CISKI, 2003
Etymology: In honor of Prof. Dan Grigorescu, University of Bucharest, whose collecting efforts in the Late Cretaceous of Hateg Basin, Romania, resulted in discoveries of the microvetebrate localities and for the disocorvery of frogs from this locality.

Holotype: LPB(FGGUB) v. 433.

Locality: Valioara-Fantanele microvertebrate locality, about 5 km west of the village Valioara, Bihor County, Hateg Basin, Romania.

Horizon: Middle member, Densus-Ciula Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Maastrichtian Stage, Upper Senonian subepoch, Upper Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.

Material: Partial left ilium missing the distal part of iliac shaft and posterior margin of supraacetabular and subacetabular regions.
