Etymology: Latin, ultimus, "last"; in reference to the relict nature of this stem salamander.

Holotype: ZINPH 3/246

Locality: Teete, Suntar Ulus, Yakutia, Siberia, Asian Russia.

Horizon: Batylykh Formation.

Biostratigraphy:
