Etymology: In honor of Thomas Martin for his substantial contributions to vertebrate palaeontology, and Greek, triton, in Greek mythology, a marine God with man's body and fish's tail.

Species: septatus SKUTSCHAS, KOLCHANOV, LANG, SCHULTZ & SCHWERMANN, 2025
Etymology: The name referes to the prominent septa on the lateral and ventral surfaces of the atlantal centrum.

Locality: Balve Locality, within a quarry north of the local center of Balve-Beckum, Saureland, North Rhine-Westphalia State, Germany
