Etymology: In hnor of John Harold Ostrom for his pioneering work on the geology and vertebrate paleontology of the Cloverly Formation, including its first faunal analysis, and Greek, batrachos, "frog": Ostroms frog.

Species: nodos ORESKA, DeMAR JR., GARDNER & CARRANO, 2024
Etymology: Greek, nodos, "toothless," refering to the edentulous nature of the maxilla.

Holotype: USNM 768869

Locality: USNM Locality 42222, southwest of Shell, Big Horn County, Wyoming.

Horizon: Little Sheep Mudstone Member (Unit V of OStrom, 1070_, Cloverly Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Early Albian Stage, Upper Gallic subepoch, Lowest Gulf Epoch, Late Early to Early Middle Cretaceous.

Material: An incomplete right maxilla.
