Etymology: In reference to the Crato Formation, the geologic unit where the specime was found.

Holotype: GP/2E-9497

Locality: Unknown, Region of Nova Olinda, Araripe Basin, Ceara State, Northeastern Brazil.

Horizon: Crato Formation.

Age: Aptian Stage, Early Gallic Subepoch, Upper Early Cretaceous Epoch, Early Cretaceous.

Material: Skull, and fragmentary skeleton.
