Etymology: In reference to Uberaba, the city in Minas Gerais State, Brazil; where the specimen was found, and Greek, batrachus, "frog."

Etymology: In honor of Ismar de Souxa Carvalho, professor ot the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, who described many Cretaceous tetrapods from Brazil.

Holotype: CPPLIP1115

Locality: "Ponto 1 do Price", 19°43'24"S, 47°44'45"W, approximately 2 km north of the town of Peiropolis, Uberaba County, Minas Gerais State, Brazil.

Horizon: Serra da Gala Member, Marilia Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Maastrichtian Stage, Upper Senonian Subepoch, Upper Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.

Material: Fragmentary skull, and fragmentary skeleton.
