Etymology: In honor of Nicolas Kidd, who discovered the specimen.

Locality: Cheese Bay, Gullane, East Lothian, Scotland, Northern United Kingdom.

Horizon: Cheese Bay Shrimp bed, Gullane Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Asbian Stage, Upper Middle Visean Epoch, Middle Dinantian series, Gzelian Epoch, Early Carboniferous (Middle Mississippian).

Material: Fragment of dentary, and fragmentary skeleton, part and counterpart.
