Etymology: In reference to the Elgin sandstone of Scotland.

Etymology: Latin, mirabilis, "wonderful."

Locality: Cutties Hillock Quarry, Near Elgin, Morayshire (NJ 185638), Grampian Province, Scotland, Northern United Kingdom.

Horizon: Cutties Hillock Sandstone Formation.

Etymology: In honor of Ms Wu Yong, who prepared the holotype and most of the specimens from this formation.

Locality: Locality DQS33, Tumd Right Banner, Baotou, close to the border with Shiquai District, Nei Mongol (Inner Mongolia), China.

Horizon: Member II, Naobaogou Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Tatarian Age, Lopingian Subepoch, Zechstein Epoch, Late Permian.

Material: Patial skull, 11 vertebrae, ribs adn c. 12 osteoderms.
