Etymology: Greek, libo, “southwest wind”, alluding to the southwestern Unites States, and Greek, gnathus, “jaw”: Southwest wind jaw.

Etymology: In honor of Emmett Shedd who discovered the holotype and donated it for study.

Holotype: Denver Museum of Natural History, DMNH 20491

Locality: Double U Ranch, approxmately 1.6 km (1 mile) southeast of Post, approxamately 180 meters north of U.S. highway 84, along Sand Creek, Lat. 33?10’45”N, Long. 101?21’15”W, Garza County, Texas.

Horizon: Cooper Canyon Formation, Dockum Group.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Norian, Late Triassic Epoch, Late Triassic.

Material: Left dentary with 6 preserved teeth, and fragment of coronoid.
