Locality: S 31°43.779’, E 25°00.0084’, on the slopes of “Maanhaar” a koppie on the farm Barendkrall (annex of Klpfontein 234), Middelbrug district, Eastern Cape Province, South Africa.

Horizon: Palingkloof member, Balfour Formation, Beaufort Group.
Note: 12 m below the base of the Katberg Formation.

Biostratigraphy: Lystrosaurus zone.

Age: Early Scythian Epoch, Early Triassic.

Material: Fragmentary skull with partial postcranial elements.

Etymology: In honor of the Kitching family, and the greast collector to the Karroo fossils, Dr. James Kitching.

Age: Tatarian Age, Lopingian Subepoch, Zechstein Epoch, Late Permian.

Material: An articulated skeleton preserving the skull and anterior part of the skeleton of a subadult specimen.

Referred material:

BP/1/4195b: Postcranial skeleton of a second subadult individual located in the same block as the holotype.
Note: Worm impression on the same block.

BP/1/4/4196: Badly crushed skull with anterior part of vertebral column.

BP/1/5398: An articulated skeleton with left manus, left pes, and most of the tail missing, with the skull roof and left side of mandible exposed to show critical areas of the cranial anatomy.
