Genus: Sikannisuchus NICHOLLS, BRINKMAN & WU, 1998
Etymology: Sikanni, in reference to the Sikanni Chief River, British Columbia Province, Canada, in the area where the specimens were found, and Greek, souchos, “crocodile’: Sikanni crocodile.

Etymology: Named after the Husky Oil, in appreciation for the extensive helicopter support given to the Royal Tyrrell Museum in the summer of 1996.

Locality: Locality D, headwaters of Chicken Creek, 32 km northwest of the community of Sikanni Chief, British Columbia Province, Canada.

Horizon: Pardonet Formation.

Biostratigraphy: triangularis zone.

Age: Early Norian State, Late Triassic Epoch, Late Triassic.

Material: Posterior portion of skull roof.
