Etymology:In honor of Ellen Eggert (born Drescher), the German preparator for the IPFUB who oversaw and prepared the thousands of specimens from the Guimarota beds. Her tremendous and priceless work allowed and keeps allowing researchers to study one of the most important parts of the Portuguese palaeontological heritage.
