Etymology:
In reference to the Sonsela Member of the Chinle Formation, which produced this specimen.
Holotype: DMNH PAL 2-18-05-0017
Locality: Green Layer site, southeast of Petrified Forest National Park, Apache County, Arizona.

Horizon: Lower part of the Jim Camp Wash beds, Sonsela Member, Chinle Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Revueltian, Norian Stage, Late Triassic Epoch, Late Triassic.
Material: A partial left dentary with 3 preserved teeth.
Note: Venomous like teeth.
