Etymology:
Etymology: Named after Biarmia or Bjarmaland, the Norse name from the area east
of the White Sea (akin to the Finnish Permian) and mentioned in Norse segas and
Russian legends; the region of modern northern Russia where the fossil was found,
Greek, soukhos, "crocodile" and Greek, -oides, "like."

Locality: Dubovka-1 locality, 10 km N of Nesterovka village, left bank of Dubovka stream, a right tributary of Bolshoi URan River, Samaran driange basin, Novosergeevskii Disrict, Orenburg Region, Eurpean Russia.
Horizon: Tatarian Series, Upper Severodvinian Substage, Severodvinian Horizon (Amanakskaya Svita, Urzhumian Gorizont).
Biostratigraphy: Sokolki Faunal Assemblage, Ilinskoe Faunal Subassemblage.
Age: Lower Tatarian Age, Capitanian Stage, Middle Zechstein Epoch, Late Middle Permian.
Material: Fragment of lower jaw.
