Etymology:
A combination of 'Rasto' (from Rio do Rasto Formation), and Greek, odon,
'tooth'.
Species: procurvidens BOOS, KAMMERER, SCHULTZ,SOARES, &
ILLHA, 2016
Etymology: Latin, procurvus, "curved forward" and Latin, dens, "tooth"; in
reference to teh unique anteriorly-curved tusks of this taxon.
Holotype: UNIPAMPA PV317P
Locality: Boqueirao farm, Sao Gabriel Municipality, Rio Grande do Sul State, Brazil.
Horizon: Morro Pelado Member, Rio do Rasto Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Guadeluupian/Lopingian Subepoch, Zechstein Epoch, Late Permian.
Material: Nearly complete skull with attached lower jaws, and unprepared postcranium.
