Etymology: Monko is a county in the eastern part of Tibet, and Greek, sauros, “lizard”.

Species: lawulacus ZHAO, 1983 (nomen nudum)
Etymology: Lawula, a Tibetan word, is the name of a mountain.

Holotype: IVPP V 6975

Locality: Lawulashan, Monko County, Qamdo district, eastern Tibet.

Horizon: Loe-ein Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Late Jurassic or Early Cretaceous.

Material: 2 incomplete vertebrae, 3 plates and pelvis.
