Etymology: After the locality of the type specimen, Tian Zhen County, Shanxi Province.

Holotype: IVPP V11276

Locality: About 270 km northwest of Beijing, Wu Valley, Kangdailiang near Zhaojiagou Village, Tian Zhen County, Shansi (Shanxi) Province, China.

Horizon: Huiquanpu Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Late Cretaceous.

Material: Braincase, occiput, skull roof, ?quadratojugal, axis vertebra, 5 cervical vertebrae, 3 dorsal vertebrae, 4 caudal vertebrae, right humerus, fragment of ?ilium, complete right femur, distal portion of the left femur and 1 dermal scute.
