Genus: Boluochia ZHOU, 1995
Etymology: The generic name is derived from the locality Boluochi, Chaoyang County, Liaoning Province, Northeast China.

Species: zhengi ZHOU, 1995
Etymology: In honour of Professor Zheng Zuoxin, who is the dozen of Chinese Ornithology.

Holotype: IVPP V9770

Locality: Boluochi, Chaoyang County, Liaoning Province, Northeast China.

Horizon: Horizon IV, Jiufotang Formation, Upper Jehol Group.

Biostratigraphy: Pistacosaurus fauna, Cathayornis-Chaoyanga Avifauna.

Age: Barremian Stage, Lower Gallic Subepoch, Lower Early Cretaceous Epoch, Early Cretaceous.

Material: Anterior portion of the skull, partial sacrum, some crushed vertebrae, a complete pygostyle, fairly complete hindlimbs and pelvic girdles. The skeleton is mainly preserved as impression.
