Genus: Changmaornis WANG, O’CONNOR, LI & YOU, 2013
Etymology: The generic name "Changma," Kansu Province, China, is derived from the name of the town where the fossil locality belongs to, and Latin, ornis, “bird”.

Species: houi WANG, O’CONNOR, LI & YOU, 2013
Etymology: In honor of Professor Lian-Hai Hou, who named Gansus yumensis.

Holotype: GSGM-08-CM-002

Locality: Northwest of the village of Chenjiawan, Changma Prefecture,Yumen Municipality, Kansu (Gansu) Province, China.

Horizon: Middle Xiagou Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Aptian-Albian Stage, Middle Gallic Subepoch, Upper Early Cretaceous Epoch, Early Cretaceous.

Material: Two thoracic vertebrae, a thoracic rib, partial synsacrum, a nearly complete right ischium and pubis, right distal tiiotarsus, and a complete articulated right foot.
