Etymology: In reference to the City of Dunhuang, Gansu Province, China; which
is located on the Silk Road and is well known for the world heritage Mogao
Grottoes.

Etymology: In honor of Mr. Ci Guihai, who has prepared many exquisite fosil birds
from the Changma Basin.
Holotype: GSGM-05-CM-030
Locality: Changma Township, Yumen City, Jiuquan area, northwestern Gansu Province, China.
Horizon: Xiagou Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Lower Aptian Stage, Middle Gallic Subepoch, Upper Early Cretaceous Epoch, Early Cretaceous.
Material: A partial skeleton prteserving the pectoral girdle, sternum and
the thoracic limbs.
