Etymology:
Latin, palma, "palm" and Latin, penis, "tail"; referring to the palm like
appearance of the preserved rectices.

Locality: Jianchang Locality, Jianchang County, northwestern Liaoning Province, China.
Horizon: Jiufotang Formation.

deviation of the distal part of the metatarsals in YFGP-yb2.

Horizon: Dakanpu Member (equivalent to the Dawangzhangzi beds), Yixian Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Lower Aptian Stage, Middle Gallic Subepoch, Upper Early Cretaceous Epoch, Early Cretaceous.
Material: An almost completely articulated skeleton including a partial caudal series.
