Etymology: Greek, micro, "small" and Greek, odontos, "tooth": In reference to the small teeth on the dentary.

Holotype: IVPP V16708

Locality: Jianchang, Chaoyang, Liaoning Province, China.

Horizon: Jiufotang Formation.


Age: Aptian Stage, Middle Gallic Subepoch, Upper Early Cretaceous Epoch, Early Cretaceous.

Material: Skull and nearly complete skeleton.
