Etymology: In honor of Dr. Hou Lianhai and his important contributions to Chinese paleornithology.

Holotype: BMNHC-PH 919a, b

Locality: Liutiaogou village, Daming Town, Ningchen County, Inner Mongolia Aautionmous Region, China.

Horizon: Yixian Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Barremian Aptian Stage, Lower Gallic Subepoch, Lower Early Cretaceous Epoch, Early Cretaceous.

Material: An articulated partial skeleton.

Note: Has feather impressions.
