Etymology: In homage to Dr. Zhou Zhonghe, who has contributed greatly to the study of the early evolution of birds, and Greek, ornis, “bird.”

Locality: Precise geographic and stratigraphic location unclear, Chaoyang County, Liaoning Province, China.

Horizon: Jiufotang Formation.

Age: Early Creatceous.

Material: Skull and skeleton.

Note: Feather impresseions on various parts of the skeleton.
