Etymology: Greek, akros, "highest," and Greek, tholos, "dome," in reference to its greatly thickened cranial vault.

Etymology: In honor of Roy Audet, for allowing access to his ranch where the holotype skull was found.

Holotype: RTMP 2008.045.0001

Locality: From Mr. Roy Audet's ranch, 1.5 km east of Writing-On-Stone Provincial Park, Alberta Province, Canada.

Horizon: Deadhorse Coulee Member, Milk River Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Aquilian age, Late Santonian Stage, Senonian subepoch, Upper Gulf epoch, Late Cretaceous.

Material: Complete frontoparietal.

Locality: Excat locality unknown, but were collected ~9.6 km east of Writing-On-Stone Provincial Park, Alberta Province, Canada.
