Genus: Brontotholus WOODRUFF, HORNER, GOODWIN & EVANS, 2025
Etymology: Greek, bronte, “thunder”, and Greek, tholus “dome”; The genus name is in homage to the 1985 film Mad Max Beyond Thunerdone, and teh paratype's (MOR 479) locality name of Beyond Thunder Dome.

Etymology: In honor of the late Robert 'Bob' Harmon, former Chief preparator at the Museum of the Rockies. Bob's expert guidance and know-how in the field and in the lab has helped shaped the current and future generations of dinosaur palaeontologists, and his keen eyes and superior field skills produced countless remarkable palaeontological discoveris.
Holotype: MOR 480
Locality: Glacier County, Montana.
Horizon: Top of the Two Medicine Formation.
Biostratigraphy: Green mustone approximately 35 to 40 m above teh datum ash (Rogers etal, 1993, 2024) adn approximately 12 m below the transition with teh overlying Bearpaw Formation.
Age: Judithian age, Campanian Stage, Senonian subepoch, Upper Gulf epoch, Late Cretaceous.
Material: Frontoparietal dome.

Locality: Beyond Thunder Dome locality, Glacier County, Montana.
Horizon: Top of the Two Medicine Formation.
