Etymology: In reference to the Coahuila State, Mexico and Greek, sauros, “lizard”: “separated lizard”.

Etymology: In reference to the Lipani Apache tribe of Coahuila.

Holotype: IGM 6685

Locality: Dinosaur Hill, about 1 km north of Presa de San Antonia, Cerro de la Virgen, Parras de la Fuente, Coahuila State, Mexico.

Horizon: Cerro del Pubelo Formation, Lower Difunta Group.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Campanian Stage, Senonian subepoch, Upper Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.

Material: Front half of skull and dentary.
