Genus: Hesperonyx ROTATORI, FERRARI, SEQUERO, CAMILO, MATEUS & MORENO-AZANZA, 2024
Etymology: Greek mythological god Hesperus, or 'Evening star,' which later meaning became "west" or "western" and Greek, onyx, "claw." The genus name refers to the "West Region" (Regiao Oeste) of Portugal where ML 2700 is from.

Locality: Pria de Praia de Porto Dinheiro, Portugal.

Horizon: Proto Novo Member, Interface between a darke silstone layer and an overlyng microconglomrate beds.

Age: Latest Kimmeridigian Stage, Malm Epoch Jurassic.

Material: Isolated carpal elements including an ungual phalanx, a left ulnare and left metacarpal fragment: and a partial left hind limb including tibia, fibula, complete metatarsals I And II, a partial metatarsal III, an dthe proximal end of metatarsal IV, five phalanges (phalanx II-1, Phalanges (phalanx II-1, phalanx III-1, phalanx III02, phalanx IV-2, and phalanx IV-3), and three pedal unguals (pu-II, pu-III, pu-IV).
