Etymology: In reference to Korea, where the type specimen was found and Latinized
Greek, ceratops, "horn-face."
Species: hwaseongensis LEE, RYAN & KOBAYASHI, 2010
Etymology: In honor of Hwaesong City, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, where the holotype was found.
Holotype: KIGAM VP 200801
Locality: Rock-filled Tando embankment dam between the Tando Dock and the Jeongok harbor, Hwaesong City, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea.
Horizon: Tando Beds.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Albian Stage, Middle Gallic Subepoch, Upper Early Cretaceous Epoch, Early Cretaceous.
Material: A nearly complete tail with both ischia, partial distal hind limbs and feet.
