Genus: Koutalisaurus PRIETO-MARQUEZ, GAETE, RIVAS, GALOBART & BOADA,

Etymology: Greek, koutali, "spoon," in reference to the extreme medial
extension of the edentulous region of the dentary, which would have given a
'spoon-like'
appearance to the jaws of the animal when both dentaries were articulated, and Greek, sauros, "lizard."

in vertebrae paleontology.

Locality: Les Llaus, near the town of Abella de la Conca, Lleida Province, Spain.

Age: Maastrichtian Stage, Upper Senonian subepoch, Upper Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.
Material: Edentulous right dentary.
