Etymology: From Abdarain Nuru, the Russian spelling for the Abdrant Nuru Locality, northern Gobi Desert, Ulan Nuur Depression, Mongolia and Latinized ancient Greek, urus, "the tail."

Etymology: In honor of Mongolian palaeontologist and academician R. Barsbold.

Holotype: PIN 5669/1

Locality: Abdrant Nuru, northern Gobi Desert, Ulan Nuur Depression, Mongolia.

Horizon: Alagteeg Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Late Cretaceous.

Material: A series of 8 anterior and 1 middle caudal vertebrae and associated chevrons.
