Genus: Adamantisaurus SANTUCCI & BERTINI, 2006
Etymology: In refernece to the Adamantina Formation in the western Sao Paulo
State from which this specimen was collected, and Greek, sauros, "lizard."
Species: mezzalirai SANTUCCI & BERTINI, 2006
Etymology: In honor of Dr. Sergio Mezzalira, the researcher who collected
and first mentioned the remains in the literature.
Holotype: MUGEO 1282
Locality: Railway between Adamantina and Irapuru, near the city of Florida Paulista, Sao Paulo State, Brazil.
Horizon: Adamintina Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Late Campanian Stage-Early Maastrichtian Stage, Senonian Subepoch, Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.
Material: 6 articulated anterior caudal vertebrae. The first is probably the second caudal vertebra.

MUGEO 1289, 1295: 2 haemaphophyses.
