Etymology: In reference to the Andes Mountain, and Greek, sauros, "lizard": “Andes mountain”.

Etymology: In honor of Sr. Alegandro Delgado.

Holotype: MUCP v 132

Locality: Rio Limay, 5 km southeast of El Chocon, Department of Confluencia, Neuquen Province, Patagonia, Argentina.

Horizon: Lower Candeleros Formation, Lower Rio Limay Subgroup, Lower Neuquen Group.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Limayan Tetrapoda Assemblage, Cenomanian Stage, Uppermiddle Gallic Subepoch, Lowermost Gulf Epoch, Late Early or Middle Cretaceous-Turonian Stage, Uppermost Gallic Subepoch, Lower Gulf Epoch, Early Late Cretaceous.

Material: 4 articulated posterior dorsals, caudal vertebrae, complete and fragmentary ischia, pubis, fragmentary humerus and fragmentary femur.
