Genus: Acantholipan RIVERA-SYLVA, FREY, STINNESBECK, CARBOT-CHANONA, SANCHEZ-URIBE & GUZMAN-GUTIERREZ, 2018
Etymology: Greek, acanthus, "spine," and the Spanish contraction of Lepai-Nde (gray people), lipan, a tribe of Apaches from northern Mexico.

Etymology: In honor of Arturo H. Gonzalez Gonzalez, for his outstanding support to Mexican paleontology.

Locality: Los Primos locality, south of the town of San Miguel, Municipality of Ocampo, Coahuila State, Mexico.

Biostratigraphy:
Age: Santonian Stage, Lower Senonian Subepoch, Middle Gulf Epoch, Lower Late Cretaceous.
Material: Dorsal, and caudal vertebrae, rib fragment, distal end of a left humerus, left ulna, the distal end of a left femur, and 1 distal thoracic osteodermal spine.
