Etymology: Greek, an-, “not, without”, Greek, odont- (odous), “tooth”, and Greek, sauros, “lizard”: “toothless lizard”.

Species: lambei STERNBERG, 1929
Etymology: In honor of Lawrence Lamb.

Locality: 90 feet above the Red Deer River, Sec. 3, Tp21, R31, W. 4th perm. Mer., Newell County, Alberta Province, Canada.

Horizon: Lower Horseshoe Canyon Formation, Edmonton Group.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Edmontonian age, lower Maastrichtian Stage, Upper Senonian subepoch, Upper Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.

Material: Crushed skull, left mandibular ramus, 1 caudal vertebra with co-ossified chevron, 1 phalanx, and many dermal scutes.
