Genus: Bienosaurus DONG, 2001 (nomen dubium)
Etymolgy: In honor of M. N. Bien, who colleted the holotype, and Greek, sauros, "lizard."

Species: lufengensis DONG, 2001 (nomen dubium)
Etymology: In reference to the Lufeng Basin, where the specimen was found.

Holotype: IVPP V 9612

Locality: Lufeng Basin, Yunnan Province, China.

Horizon: Dark Red beds, Lower Lufeng Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Hettangian-Pliensbachian Stage, Middle Lias Epoch, Early Jurassic.

Material: A nearly complete right lower jaw, a fragmentary frontal and other cranial fragments.
