Etymology: Latin, gravis, "heavy."

Holotype: Benares Hindu University, Collection of Geological Museum, No. V9.

Locality: About 50 to 60 feet above the level of the carnosaur beds at Bara Simila Hill, top of Chota Simla Hill, 60 feet east of the Block House, Jubbulpore, India.

Horizon: Junction of Mottled Nodular beds and Upper Limestone, Upper Lameta Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Maastrichtian Stage, Upper Senonian Subepoch, Upper Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.

Material: Humerus.
