Etymology: In reference to Horsham, the English down where the fossil was displayed, and Greek, sauros, "lizard."

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Barremian Stage, Lower Gallic Subepoch, Early Cretaceous Epoch, Early Cretaceous.

Material: Fragmentary skeleton comprising an almost complete dorsal vertebra, and dorsal centrum, an anterior caudal centrum with fragments of others, the proximal end of left scapula with a fragment of fused coracoid, distal end of humerus, a nearly complete right tibia, rib fragments, two dermal ossifications and many indeterminate fragments.
