Genus: Texasetes COOMBS, 1995
Etymology: Texas-referring to Texas, where the specimen was found, -etes, meaning dweller or one who dwells.

Species: pleurohalio COOMBS, 1995
Etymology: Greek, pleuro-, "by the side or adjacent to" and Greek, -halio, "the sea": hence; the one that dwells in Texas adjacent to the sea.

Holotype: USNM 337987

Locality: 5 miles (8 km) south of Haslet, within limits of the town of Blue Mound, approximately 97°20’W, 32°56’N, north of Fort Worth, Texas.

Horizon: Paw Paw Formation, (Sandy Member of Dennison Formation), Comanche Series.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Upper Albian Stage, Middle Gallic Subepoch, Upper Early Cretaceous Epoch, Early Cretaceous.

Material: Possible cranial fragment, 2 teeth, 24 vertebral centra (5 cervical, 3 sacral, and 16 caudal), 2 partial scapulocoracoids, acetabular regions of both ilia, possible fragment of ischium, proximal and distal ends of both humeri, both femora, and both tibia, proximal ends of both ulnae and both radii, possible distal end of a fibula, a few additional indeterminate fragments of long bones, left metacarpal IV, left metatarsal IV, 3 phalanages including 2 unguals, and a few scraps of armor.
