Etymology: The Fossils were collected close to Wuerho, a small town in Xinjiang Uygur Zizhiqu (Sinkang) Province, China and Greek, sauros, “lizard”: “Wuerho lizard”.

Species: homheni DONG, 1973
Etymology: Latin, homhen, "wide and flat," in reference to the sacral region of this stegosaur.

Etymology: Named after the after the Ordos Basin, Inner Mongolia (Nei Mongolia), China.

Locality: Near Yang-paul village, Ordos (Shaan-Gan-Ning) Basin, Inner Mongolia (Nei Mongolia), China.

Horizon: Ejinhoro Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Early Cretaceous.

Material: An incomplete skeleton that includes a series of 3 cervical, 11 dorsal, 5 sacral ribs, and 5 caudal vertebrae, cervical, dorsal and sacral ribs, and right ilium.
