Genus: Bravasaurus HECHENLEITNER, LEUZINGER, MARTINELLI, ROCHER, FIORELLI, TABORDA & SALGADO, 2020
Etymology: Referred to the Laguna Brava, a lake that gives name to the Laguna Brava Provincal Park, and Greek, sauros, "lizard."

Species: arrierosorum HECHENLEITNER, LEUZINGER, MARTINELLI, ROCHER, FIORELLI, TABORDA & SALGADO, 2020
Etymology: Referring to the people who crossed the Andes carrying cattle during the 19th century.

Holotype: CRILAR-Pv 612

Locality: QSD, La Rioja Province, Patagonia, Argentina.

Horizon: Sandstone levels 34m above the base of the Cienaga del Rio Huaco Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Campanian-Maastrichtian Stage, Senonian Subepoch, Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.

Material: Right quadrate and quadratojugal, 4 cervical, 5 dorsal, and 3 caudal vertebrae, few dorsal ribs, 3 haemal archs, left humerus, fragmentary ulna, metacarpal IV, partial left ilum with sacral ribs, right pubis, partial ischium, left femur, and both fibulae.

CRILAR-Pv 613: Isoalted tooth, right ilium, right femur, and dorsal ribs.
