Genus: Drusilasaura NAVARRETE, CASAL & MARTINEZ, 2011
Etymology: In honor of Drusila Ortiz de Zarate, a young volunteer who helped excavate the sauropod and who's family owns the site "Maria Aike", and Greek, saura, 'lizard'. Femine.

Species: deseadensis NAVARRETE, CASAL & MARTINEZ, 2011
Etymology: "Deseadensis", in reference to the Desado Valley, Santa Cruz Province, Argentina where the specimen was found.

Holotype: MPM-PV 2097/1 -/19

Locality: South bank of the Rio Deseado, Maria Aike Ranch, 46°43'05"S, 69°39'55"W, Lago Buenos Aires Department, Santa Cruz Province, Argentina.

Horizon: Upper Member, Bajo Barreal Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Cenomanian-Turonian Stage, Upper Middle-Upper Gallic Subepoch, Lower Gulf Epoch, Late Middle-Early Late Cretaceous.

Material: 4 dorsal vertebrae, 1 sacral vertebra, 6 caudal vertebrae, left scapula, dorsal rib fragments, 2 haemapophyses and indeterminate fragments.
