Etymology: In reference to Hami City where the specimen was found, and Greek, titan, "giant", symbolic of the large size of this genus.

Etymology: In reference to Xinjiang, China.

Holotype: HM V22

Locality: Hami, Xinjiang Province, China.

Horizon: Shengjinkou Formation, Tugulu Group.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Lower Cretaceous.

Material: An articulated series of 7 anterior to middle caudal vertebrae including the proximal portions of 3 chevrons.
