Genus: Huashanosaurus MO, ZHOU, FU, XIONG, HU & XU, 2025
Etymology:
In reference to the Huashan Mountain in Ningming County, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Southern China, where the holtoype waw found. Huashan Mountain is famous for the Zuojiang Huashan rock painting and is listed as a world heritage, and Greek, sauros, "lizard."
Species: qini MO, ZHOU, FU, XIONG, HU & XU, 2025
Etymology: In honor of Jian Qin, who first reported the fossil site to the Cultural Relics Administration of Ningming County, China.
Holotype: NHMG 034093
Locality: Huqiu Quarry, near Dongshi Village, Beijiang Town, Ningmnig County, Guangzi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Southern China.
Horizon: Wangmen Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Early to Middle Jurassic.
Material: 1 incomplete dorsal centrum, 1 incomplete dorsal rib, distal part of the left humerus, the porximal part of the left ulna, 1 manual phalanx, incomplete ilium, distal part fo teh femur, distal part of the figula, incomlte metatarsal V adn incomplete pedal ungula.
Paratype:
CRAN 0001: 3 anterior caudal vertebrae, 1 middle caudal vertebra, 1 anteriormost caudal neural spine, 1 anterior caudal neural spien, and 1 pedal phalanx.
