Genus: Ibirania NAVARRO, GHILARDI, AURELIANO, DIEZ DIAZ, BANDEIRA, CATTARUZZI, IORI, MARTINE, CARVALHO, ANELLI, FERNADES & ZAHER, 2022
Etymology: In reference to the Ibira municipality in which the speicmen was found and Greek, plania (ania), "wander". The name Ibira is a POrtuguese derivative from the Tupi word "ybyra", which means "tree" or "wood." Thus, the name fothis new genus , means "Ibria wanderer" or Tree wanderer" in allusion to its browser feeding behaviour.

Etymology:
Latin, parvus (feminine substantive parva), "small or little", in reference to the nanism exhibited by this form.

Locality: Sitio dos Irmaos Garcia (Barcia Brothers Farm, near Washington Luis Sate Highway (Sp-310), Vila Ventura, Ibira Municipality, northeastern Sao Paulo State, Brazil.
