Genus: Jainosaurus HUNT, LOCKELY, LUCAS & MEYER, 1995 (not 1994)
Etymology: In honor of Sohan Jain for his contributions to Mesozoic vertebrate paleontology, and Greek, sauros, “lizard”: Jain’s lizard.

Species: septentrionalis (HUENE & MATLEY, 1933) HUNT, LOCKELY, LUCAS & MEYER, 1995 (not 1994)
Etymology: Laitn, septentrionalis, "northern"; in reference to the specimen being found in the northern hemisphere.

Etymology:
= Titanosaurus septentrionalis (VON HUENE & MATLEY, 1933)

Locality: Sauropod beds, Bara Simla Hill, Jubbulpore, Madhya Pradesh State, India.

Horizon: Lameta Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Maastrichtian Stage, Uppermost Senonian Subepoch, Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.

Material: Posterior part of a skull, brain cast, left squamosal, hyoid.

Note: WILSON, D'EMIC, CURRY ROGERS, MOHABEY & SEN, 2009 state that the element described as a left squamosal is undigonistic and the hyoid is lost.
