Etymology: In reference to Jiangshan County, and Greek, sauros, “lizard”

Species: lixianensis TANG, KANG, JIN, WEI & WU, 2001
Etymology: In reference ot the Lixian Village, where the specimen was found.

Holotype: Zhejiang Natural Museum, M1322

Locality: Lixian, Jiangshan County, Zhejiang Province, China.

Horizon: Lower part of the Jinhua Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Late Early Cretaceous.

Material: A relatively complete left scapulocoracod, 5 posterior and mid-dorsal vertebra, parts of both pubi and ischium, 3 caudal vertebrae, and parts of the femur shaft.
