Etymology: Maui is an acronym of the Museo Municipal Argention Urquizo, Rincon de los Sauces, Neuquen, Argentina.

Holotype: MAU-Pv-CM-522

Locality: Canadon Mistringa, about 9 km southwest o fthe city of Rincon de los Sauces, Pehuenches Department, north-eastern Neuquen Province, Argentina.

Horizon: Sierra Barrosa Formation, Rio Neuquen Subgroup, Neuquen Group.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Upper Conician Stage, Early Senonian Subepoch, Early Gulf Epoch, Early Late Cretaceous.

Material: Fragmentary skull and fragmentary skeleton.
