Genus: Musankwa BARRETT, CHAPELLE, SCISCIO, BRODERICK, ZONDO, MUNYIKWA & CHOINIERE, 2024
Etymology:
In reference to the houst-boat "Musankwa", from the Tonga dialect, meaning "boy close to marrage"; see SOM 5" fig. S1. This vessel acted as our home and mobile laboratory during two field expeditions to Kake Kariba in 2017-2018, and was made available throught the generosity of Daivd and Jilie Glynn. Its crew, Coster Katupu, Godfrey Swalika, Simbarashe Mangoroma, and Never Mapira, provided essitial longistic support.

Etymology: In reference to the Sanyati River, whose original course is now submerged in the Sanyati Basin of Lake Kariba, in which the type localty (Spurwing Island) is situated.
Holotype: NHMZ 2521
Locality: The "Spurwig East Paleosol" site, 16°43.592'S, 28°41.771'E, situated on the north-eastern shoreline of Spurwing Island, Lake Kariba, Mid-Zambezi Basin, Zimbabwe.
Horizon: Pebbly Arkose Formation, Upper Karoo Group.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Norian Stage, Late Triassic Epoch, Late Triassic.
Material: A partial right hind limb, consisting of a complete femur, tibia, and astragalus, with associated indeterminate bone fragments.
